Each Fall the Lincoln County cowboy symposium comes to Lincoln County in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

This is truly an amazing time for mountain biking in Ruidoso New Mexico!

Eco-servants have been working long and hard on these trails. I went up and hiked in and back for a total of 3.2 and took some pictures and it was truly amazing to see the new views that are up there now! There are new scenic views of White Mountain and views overlooking Ruidoso which I had never got to seen before and very few people have ever seen because very few people have hiked in that area as it was very rough ground on the other and of grindstone reservoir.

It was just absolutely beautiful and the only way I could describe it isit looked to me a lot like the remote roads in CloudCroft. I plan to go out again this week and plan some geo-caches in the area and map it out better with pictures to see exactly where the trails go is very difficult for me at this point to see where the trails go in and out. In fact I did not see a single entrance I had to enter from grindstone reservoir. But as I get more familiar with the area I will post up photographs for people to see. To most amazing thing about this area is has a full 18 holes of disc golf and the reservoir right on the trails and not to mention the amazing wildlife and views of the mountains. The new grindstone Lake mountain bike and hiking trails will truly be an asset and a great attraction for many many years to come. I must commend the village for this project as I can’t imagine a better attraction for the area, or a better location to create trails. There is so much to do in the grindstone reservoir area in Ruidoso New Mexico. This area is really a crown jewel for the Ruidoso New Mexico tourism industry!

A Full 18 holes of disc golf Right behind the dam at grindstone reservoir.

If you’re used to playing in dry flat lands with disc golf you’re going to be amazed at the beauty of this disc golf course. The most beautiful disc golf course I have ever seen the front 9 is totally green in shady with huge pine trees rising up to 100 feet and the back 9 is a little bit sunnier and warmer specially during the winter. Surrounded by miles and miles of hiking trails and the reservoir within walking distance of 200 yards. Geocache locations available around the course and around the reservoir it is a spectacular site to be see walkong up the east side of the damn and have a beautiful view of 10,000 foot altitude Sierra Blanca.if you are into geo-caching or this is one of the greatest locations to find geo-caches.

There are 18 miles of new trails for mountain bikers in Ruidoso new mexico and those trails cross section with this disc golf course and a reservoir and a horseback riding trails.

This is now a national attraction with the new mountain bike trails for bicyclists. Mountain biking is becoming a huge local attraction and these trails will only increase that attraction to Ruidoso.

This course is within walking distance of beautiful downtown Ruidoso New Mexico and just around the bend from the inn of the mountain gods , one of the most spectacular casinos and resorts in the world.
Play a few holes of golf and then walk around grindstone reservoir it’s about a mile and a half around and has some the most beautiful Scenery that one could ever see lots of cranes,birds of all types, small animals, cougars and bears around the lake.

And fishing is available as well. Fishing is not a huge draw and the area but there is some great fishing available, especially trout fishing. Bonita Lake, Grindstone Lake and the Rio Ruidoso River have always had some great trout fishing for tourists and locals.

Aspen fest weekend Ruidoso New Mexico is a weekend long celebration.

Parade through Midtown Saturday at 10 AM from the corner of Sudderth and Mechemdown to the 700 block of Sudderth Drive.

There will be an arts and crafts show it schoolhouse Park on Saturday from 9 to 530 and Sunday 9 to 4.

The New Mexico state chili cookoff will be on Saturday and the rod run car show Saturday 8 to 4. Both of these are at the Ruidoso Downs racetrack and casino.
